A crew of local oil refinery workers are set for a particularly rough crossing when they set off for Ireland.
The 13-man team, all of whom work at Murco, in Milford Haven, will not be catching a ferry for the 125-mile trip, but instead rowing to raise money for charity.
The group aims to raise up to £1,000 for the Angle Lifeboat Appeal, The Paul Sartori Foundation, Adam’s Bucketful of Hope Appeal, Cancer Leukaemia in Children and the Welsh Air Ambulance.
The expedition begins on May 1, and the group has already raised more than £3,500, with £1,400-worth of all weather clothing supplied by the group’s employer.
The 13-man crew is Adam Picton-James, Dave Moore, Chris Busby, Damian Russant, Adrian Heath, Barnaby O’Keeffe, Des Nicholas, Chris Evans, Steve Kenyon, Adrian Davies, Paul Bryson, Neil Williams and Richard Milkins.
Anyone wishing to make a donation can contact Dave on 01348 874 730 or Adam James on 07989 312 001 or adam.james70@ tiscali.co.uk.
