Narberth (126 for 9) drew with Carew (160 for 6)

Carew were denied victory as Narberth’s Matthew Johns and Tom Bevan held out for the last two overs to gain a draw.

Carew’s total of 160 for 6 owed much to Brian Hall (45) and Tom Richards (29 against his former colleagues) with Hall bowled by Ben Quartermaine and Richards caught by Ritchie Adams off Matthew Johns.

Ian Sefton (12), Nick Scourfield (18), Gareth Lewis (12) and Rhys Davies (15 not out) also chipped in with a few runs. Veteran tweaker Matthew Johns marked his first league match for the Narberth first team this season with 2 for 29, assisted by Ben Quartermaine (1 for 27), his brother Kyle (1 for 28) and Ian Hughes (1 for 56).

Tim Hicks (4 for 33) and Rhys Davies (2 for 22) looked the pick of the Carew bowlers against useful Narberth batting by Kyle Quartermaine (27), Ritchie Adams (34) and Dan Hughes (18). Rob Scourfield (1 for 20) and Ceri Brace (1 for 21) also picked up wickets for Carew, but unable to secure the final scalp that would have seen Carew make it four in a row.
