St Ishmaels (139 all out) lost to Haverfordwest (143 for 8)

HAVERFORDWEST maintained their 100% start to the season at St Ishmaels, but not before Tish pushed them all the way in a close game.

Tish looked in real trouble at 80 for 7, only Gareth Cheshire (25) ever looking settled against the pace of Adam James (5 for 27 in 12 fiery overs) but the tail wagged through No 10 Andrew Pawlett, who smashed two fours and four sixes in his lightning quick 42.

Teenager Jordan Milich batted 53 balls before being last out for 12 as Josh Wilment (3 for 50), Clive Tucker (1 for 21) and Nigel Morgan (1 for 22) were the other successful Town bowlers.

Jonathan Strawbridge gave Haverfordwest a flying start for the third match in succession as he struck eight fours in his 45 but got out just at the time he might well have destroyed the Tish bowling.

Adam James (23), Danny Potter (14) and David Haynes (12) also scored runs for The Town against Andrew Pawlett (4 for 14), Danny Flynn (2 for 9) and Jonathan Pawlett (1 for 17) in a raininterrupted Haverfordwest innings.

At 128 for 8 The Town were still not sure of success but Chris Phillips (10 not out) and Josh Wilment (8 not out) kept their nerve to edge Haverfordwest through, to the noisy delight of their relieved team mates.

Umpires: Les Hastings and Alan Hansen.

Scorers: Wendy Bradshaw and Natalie Thomas.
