Manderwood Pembrokeshire League Division One:

Merlins Bridge 1-4 Lamphey

LAMPHEY produced a stunning display to comfortably defeat Merlins Bridge - compounding a bad 48 hours for The Wizards as their title hopes took three major blows.

Following their 2-1 defeat at Hakin on Thursday, the folding of the West Dragons on Friday meant Nathan Thomas' men lost six points in the table, and then this defeat saw them drop from first to fifth in the space of two days.

The clash was switched from the Racecourse to the Pavilion Field, and The Stags opened the scoring in the first minute as Jason Evans struck from close range.

Matters got worse for Bridge when an own goal and then a penalty converted by Billy Davies gave the visitors a three-goal cushion at the interval.

Five minutes after the break and Will Haworth pulled a goal back for the shell-shocked home side, but The Stags put the result beyond doubt when Mikey Davies scored a brilliant goal from distance, as his long range effort sailed over Gary Thomas and into the net.

The win sealed Lamphey's place in Division One for another season, with bottom side Milford United now unable to catch up them regardless of results.
