CARDIFF University RFC have been asked to attend a WRU hearing tomorrow following an investigation into the eligibility of their line-up in their National Bowl semi final win against Pembroke, Telegraph Sport can reveal.

The students produced an accomplished display to beat the Scarlets 32-12 in Dunvant on March 31st, to seemingly win through to a final at the Principality Stadium against Porthcawl later this month.

But last Friday, following an appeal from Pembroke, a WRU spokesman confirmed they were looking into the Cardiff line-up in relation to competition rules.

And Telegraph Sport now understands that a hearing will take place tomorrow between WRU officials and representatives of the University side - with the club stating today they are looking forward to meeting on the matter.

Competition rules set out at the start of the season state that that if a team is found to have played an ineligible player (s), the WRU’s Competitions Management Committee 'have the power to penalise the offending club by disqualifying them from the competition'.

The final is set to take place on Sunday, April 29th at the Principality Stadium.
