Division Three West A:

Haverfordwest 27-57 Pembroke

Josh Atherton claimed a cracking hat-trick of tries for Haverfordwest last night, but the pacy winger still ended up on the losing side against Pembroke, who continued to build towards their Pembrokeshire KO Cup final next Wednesday by running in nine tries.

It was Atherton who gave The Blues the initial advantage as he sped over for two unconverted tries whilst inbetween, a powerful surge by Cyle Weatherall resulted in Pembroke’s first try.

But then The Scarlets surged forward to lead 26-10 as their much-changed side began to gel and there were two good tries from left winger Fraser James and another by scrum half Iori Roberts, all three converted by No 10 Ryan Wilkins.

Toby Smith opened the second half scoring for The Scarlets but then outstanding No 8 Kyle Williams powered over for two Blues’ tries, one converted by Gareth John, as they battled hard up front.

It stung Pembroke but they responded as Jamie Brayford added a try – only for Atherton to complete his hat-trick at the other end.

But then Pembroke's power proved too much late on and they added further scores by Dom Colman, a second for Weatherall and a super finish from youth team skipper Tom Harding-Jones, playing at full back.

Pembroke will be presented with the Division Three West A trophy this Saturday at home to Milford Haven, and then four days later take on Aberystwyth in St Davids in the KO Cup final.
