It’s an event that never fails to impress, and yet again, the annual Tour of Pembrokeshire has been widely praised after another successful weekend.

The weather could not have been better - with stunning sunshine already in place when the cyclists gathered at Crug Glas Country House Hotel near St Davids early on Saturday morning.

Entrants tackled either the Paul Sartori-25, Fred Rees Sokda 50, Mavic 75 or Paul Ties 100-mile routes, and were given an inspirational talk before setting off by Tour of Pembrokeshire Ambassador and Para-Olympian Mel Nicholls.

The longest (100-mile ride) incorporated the north of the county and the Preseli mountains, and presented an extreme challenge given the temperatures and challenging terrain.

But it was a challenge that the majority overcame, with the help of volunteers and marshals who were stationed around the county to provide much needed sustenance and encouragement.

And the fun didn’t stop on Saturday night, with Sunday a designated ‘adventure day’ where riders, their family and friends enjoyed wildlife trips with Falcon Boats and activities with Preseli Venture.

he reputation of the event is now well established, and the feedback left by those involved suggests the popularity of the Tour won’t be waning anytime soon.

“Awesome event. The organisers, marshals and volunteers were amazing and the weather was great.” said Geraint Flye.

“It was my first time and I will be definitely back again.”

Delyth Lewis meanwhile, was one returning to the county having become a regular at the event.

“I keep coming back to the Tour for the fantastic atmosphere, outstanding organisation and the stunning beautiful Pembrokeshire countryside. Thank you to all involved.”

The organisers themselves released a statement via social media thanking everyone who took part.

“We hope that everyone enjoyed the beautiful sunshine and had a day to remember,” they said.
