Hywel Dda Centre, Whitland

Greetings from Whitland to The Senedd in Cardiff The St David’s Day 2010 message to the Senedd in Cardiff began with a blessing at St David’s Cathedral and then on to the Hywel Dda Centre at Whitland, traditionally the meeting place of the first assembly called by King Hywel Dda in the 10th century.

Raymonds Charity Walk

Raymonds charity beach walk for the Noah's Ark Appeal on September 20th. The total sum raised was £1725.

Conservatives Supporters Club

Conservatives Supporters Club A very successful and well-supported bimonthly lunch of the Conservatives Supporters Club was held at the Plas Hyfred Hotel on Saturday, which was enjoyed by all. During the lunch the secretary drew attention of the members that we had accumulated a considerable reserve of funds. After discussion it was agreed unanimously that the money should be given to the Air Ambulance. The next luncheon will be held in January at a time and venue to be advised.

Whitland Male Choir

Whitland Male Choir Recently the choir hosted the Avon and Somerset Constabulary Choir based in Bristol and consisting mainly of retired policemen, civilian staff attached to the police and one serving police officer.

Llanddewi Velfrey WI

Llanddewi Velfrey Wi The October meeting was held in the village hall, Ann Bland, president in the chair, members were pleased to welcome Naomi Jones as a visitor. The minutes were read and the county letter discussed, arrangements were made to attend the annual council meeting, it was noted that the slide show on Antartica organised by county would be held in Llanddewi Velfrey village hall. Money was taken for the 100+ club and deposits for the Christmas dinner car sharing arrangements were made to attend the screening of ‘The Age of Stupid’ at the Merlin Theatre and the Autumn Group meeting in Llawhaden, a letter was read by secretary, Deanna Lewis from county thanking the institute for money donated as sponsorship to the Raise the Roff Appeal after the magnificent efforts of Mo Gamble and Eileen Lewis in walking the coastal path. Deanna was congratulated on having a photo accepted for the 2010 calendar.
