Summer of Positivity

Posted on 10:48pm Monday 26th July 2010

It has been such a busy time, every day I have gone to write my blog, and got side tracked! Summer is here, at least the holiday’s are! The weather isn’t so great, typical British summertime, inconsistent, wet but hot, a nightmare for planning days and activities with children! It is difficult juggling work and childcare, and I thank my family for helping me out where they can. Luckily, being self employed, I can choose my hours to fit in with my children.

Summer Solstice

Posted on 9:06pm Friday 18th June 2010

This Monday, June 21st, is the summer solstice – the shortest day and longest night of the year. Summer has arrived, and we have certainly been enjoying summer weather at the moment. It is a very important day, the ancient Celts and Druids thought that abundance could be manifested and negative thoughts and evil spirits could be warded off. The Celts practised fertility rituals at this time, and it is a time to honour the Sun God.

Meditation

Posted on 9:22pm Wednesday 9th June 2010

Where does the time go? With half term, bank holidays, and the lovely weather, I have not managed a blog for a little while! In our busy lives, dashing around, always on the go with work, family, running a home and fulfilling the many roles we have, it is difficult to find anytime for ourselves. We are advised that we should find some ‘me’ time, but it isn’t that easy.

Flower Power

Posted on 10:24pm Saturday 15th May 2010

I have been working recently at some fundraising shows, and the most common complaint from people is lack of energy. One thing you can do to counteract this is to breath in yellow to uplift and energise you. Take some deep breaths to steady your breathing, and then focus all your attention on your solar plexus, just under your chest, in the center. Place the palm of your hand there if it helps. With each breath in, visualise you are breathing in a bright, sunny yellow, breath it right down to your solar plexus. Imagine a bright yellow flower, if it is easier, such as a daffodil. With each breath out, imagine you are releasing any stagnant, stale, lethargic energy. Really try and empty your lungs. Repeat this several times, and whenever you can to boost your energy. This also helps in calming you if you are feeling anxious.

Crystals in Business

Posted on 9:49pm Thursday 29th April 2010

I have had a brilliant week, the children are back in school, and I am back in ‘business’ mode. I really enjoy the holidays when the children are home, but I find it difficult at times to juggle work and childcare. I love spending as much time as I can with them, but, I also have to see clients and attend shows. I am extremely lucky in that being self employed, I have maximum control over my working hours, thank goodness!

Necessary Stress?

Posted on 8:58pm Sunday 18th April 2010

I have spent an amazing weekend at the West Wales Health Show in Haverfordwest, offering free crystal therapy tasters. It was very well attended, despite our fears that everybody would head for the beach! It gave people the chance to try new therapies, and, for me, to meet new clients and to help improve their physical and emotional health, oh, and to catch up with old friends!

New Moon!

Posted on 10:16pm Friday 26th March 2010

A quick blog, to talk about New Moon - the film, and the real thing! The film was released on DVD last Monday, and is fantastic, all my children adore it. It contains something for everyone, I think. I cannot wait for the next film in the Twilight series to be shown in cinemas in July. As for the real New Moon, this month it is this Monday, 29 March. It is always an important time of the month, and the moons full energy heightens all emotions and actions. Associated with werewolves and the like, it is such a powerful energy, after all, it controls the tides, and whilst it may not actually turn people into werewolves, it nevertheless has a profound affect on us humans, particularly women. The moons energy is feminine, and affects fluids, i.e. water (hence the sea). Since we are made up of mainly water, it is not difficult to see why the moon affects us so much. Common problems are restless sleep, heightened emotions – from being more sensitive, to being hysterical! Also, for a woman, if her monthly cycle falls at this time it can be more extreme – emotionally and physically. It has also been reported to strongly affect the residents of mental health institutions, with more disruptive behaviour and incidents happening when there is a full moon. You can use this amazing energy to your advantage, and one way, which is important to me, is to cleanse and charge your crystals. Place any crystals you have either outside, in a safe place, or on a windowsill, to bathe in the full moonlight. Leave them there all night, even if they are not in direct moonlight, the moons energy will still be absorbed. A full moon indicates fruition, and is a time to sit down and reflect on what is working in your life, and what isn’t. The next two weeks of the waning moon are a time to get rid – clear out, physically in your home, and emotionally, anything that is not working for you. This is the best time to do this!

Be kind to yourself!

Posted on 9:39pm Sunday 21st March 2010

Did you know that each day, an average woman has 36 negative thoughts about her body? Isn’t that a waste of precious energy? How much better to have kind thoughts about yourself and your body. An experiment carried out by Nikki Owen, a TV commentator who also practices NLP (Neuro-linguistic programming), has showed the effect negative thoughts has on your body. I have read about similar experiments before, and was thrilled to read about this particular one in the Daily Mail recently. It is so important to understand the effect that negative thoughts can have on your body.

Spring is in the Air!

Posted on 10:58pm Friday 12th March 2010

Isn’t it amazing how much better we feel when the sun is shining? We have had a week of beautiful days full of sunshine, even if they have been a bit chilly! The suns energy is masculine, very energising which makes us feel more productive and fired up. We feel as if we have more energy and are able to tackle things we may have been putting off. Make the most of the sunshine, and put your energy to good use, go for a long walk, do some gardening, enjoy some fresh air. When outdoors, take some really deep breaths, as deep as you can, and really push your breath put, imagine exhaling any stale air from your lungs, and imagine exhaling any tension or worries at the same time. When you breathe in, imagine you are filling your lungs and body with fresh, positive energy, as well as fresh air Next weekend, on Saturday March 20, is the Spring Equinox. It is when day and night are of equal length and is the astrological New Year, as the sun moves into Aries, the first sign of the zodiac. New cycles begin, a time to make a fresh start, start new projects and to grab any chance that you are offered. I read about a lovely idea to celebrate the Spring Equinox, and to give you a boost for the year ahead. On March 20, hold some sunflower seeds and silently think of an area in your life you want to grow and flourish. It may be career or relationship based or anything you want to develop. Plant the seeds and look after them well so that the flowers, and your ideas, grow and flourish.

Nature's Gifts

Posted on 8:29pm Monday 8th March 2010

I spent a wonderful day recently at an Aromatherapy workshop and learnt such a lot about the wonderful benefits of essential oils and how to use them properly. I have learnt the basics before, but it was lovely to spend a day working with them. Like crystals, they are very powerful – much more then people realise and you really need to know what you are doing. I have promised myself to use more oils everyday. The power of nature’s gifts should not be underestimated. Eastern countries, and even other parts of Europe embrace them more than the UK does. We have so many wonderful resources to call on to help us with our physical and emotional health, it is a shame that people are reluctant to trust and try them.

A souper day out for all

Posted on 5:13pm Friday 26th February 2010

I hope there is fine weather at the weekend for the St David’s Day Food and Craft Festival in Saunders foot. Held this Saturday and Sunday, it incorporates the CawlTrail and Cawl Cooking competition on Saturday. Attracting large numbers of people, it is a really good day out. I had a stall there last year, and I am there again this year. The atmosphere is brilliant, friendly and fun. There are a wide range of stalls with a mixture of different foods, drink, gifts, jewellery, and crystals, many with tasty samples for you to try. There are also some great cookery demonstrations, and last year there was a class in skinning a rabbit and preparing a pheasant! Not for the squeamish, or vegetarians! I personally had to leave the marquee, but, lots of people were fascinated and watched in wonder. Many people come to explore the market, have lunch,(being Cawl on Saturday), and walk it off along the beach. At only £4 for a commemorative bowl which you can keep, and fill with cawl at various premises around the village, you end up very full at a bargain price! Exact times and details are in this weeks Western Telegraph.
